This week we traveled to Murcia to present our solutions at the Innovation Day organized by Telefónica.
The Director General of Information Technology and Digital Transformation of the regional government, Javier Martínez, and the Public Administrations Manager of Telefónica East, José Manuel Plaza, have visited this space designed as "a meeting point where solutions can be tested, advice can be received and success stories from other administrations and companies"«
Telefónica's Technology Innovation Center will be in the Region of Murcia for two days with the 'Telefónica Innovation Days Murcia' event. Through this initiative, the company invites attendees to learn more about its most innovative solutions based on technologies such as 5G, Cloud, Edge Computing, Cybersecurity, Big Data & IoT, among others. These solutions enable both public administrations and businesses in the Region to digitize and improve their management, as well as add more value in their various areas of activity.
In addition, some of the solutions offered by startups integrated into the Wayra ecosystem, Telefónica's open innovation hub, have been explored. Furthermore, technologies such as the new generation of 5G mobile telephony, which provides capabilities that enable new use cases such as remote surgery or autonomous driving, have been highlighted across the board.
Reducing the digital divide
Dozens of local and regional public administrations in the Region have requested appointments to visit the exhibition. "Taking into account their scope of action, we recommend tools that improve the efficiency of their processes. We have digital models for any area and, depending on their needs, we customize basic services to show them how they can save costs and improve their service to citizens," Plaza stated.
In this regard, Telefónica has organized open sessions with experts who have taught how the services work and, in parallel, individual appointments with the aim of understanding the particularities and helping each company and administration individually, including the smallest ones.
Another objective of the exhibition has been to help reduce the digital divide between smaller administrations (which need to see practical examples of how the change will impact their organizations) and larger ones (which have digital advisors). To this end, the exhibition features a dozen demonstrations divided into different areas according to their technology:
