Yesterday, Monday, June 28, the Minister of Justice, Juan Carlos Campo, presented the EVID project at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. EVID is a new channel for providing services to professionals and citizens via videoconference, with full digital legal security, and is part of the Justice 2030 plan.

The Minister of Justice took the opportunity during his speech to present the Digital Immediacy Virtual Desk (EVID), a new channel for serving professionals and citizens via videoconference, with full digital legal security, thus equating service through this channel to in-person service at the offices themselves. EVID is part of...The Justice 2030 plan which the Ministry is working on to modernize the Administration of Justice.
Currently, the EVID system is already in use in Palencia, Murcia, and the Balearic Islands. It is operational in the judicial system for auction assignments, ratifications in family law matters (primarily divorces and custody cases), and acceptances of expert witness appointments; and in civil registries for private hearings for couples getting married.
Campo announced that they expect to "extend its use soon, not only to the Justice Administration but also to other areas of the Justice sector." He added that EVID "perfectly summarizes the philosophy of our Justice 2030 Project: accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability.".
